The hotel, currently a listed building in Amsterdam, was originally built as a school and still functions as a school today: The College Hotel, in fact, was founded as a training hotel for outstanding students from the Amsterdam Hotel Management School, Bakery and Tourism. In 2004 the design studio FG Stijl was commissioned to refurbish the hotel as to create a warm and modern ambience.
All furnishings were manufactured by Interna, both for the public spaces (bar, reception, restaurant, lounge, lobby, and bathrooms) and for all the 40 gorgeous rooms and suites, each with its own individual identity. Both the custom-made items and the ones selected from Interna own collections have been produced with the highest quality standards, with carefully selected materials, some of them rather luxury and unusual, such as mother of pearl and haircloth.
