The Duxton, originally a Six Senses and now an Autograph Collection hotel (Marriott), is located within a row of traditional trading houses in Singapore colourful Chinatown and has been restored following the design of the renowned British designer Anouska Hempel. The hotel offers to the guests a luxurious and sophisticated experience in a setting that is an ingenious mix of Chinese, Malay, and European elements.
For this rare pearl of Singapore Interna China was called to supply fix and loose furniture for the public areas as well as for all the rooms and suites. All the items are one-offs, designed, produced, and installed turnkey with painstaking attention to every single detail and in compliance with the highest quality standards. The rich lobby decor features glossy lacquered screens that allow a glimpse, through their transparencies, of gilded fans, with intense hues of black, gold, and yellow, layered with Oriental screens and calligraphy wallpaper. Gold takes centre stage also in the Yellow Pot restaurant which offers classic and innovative Chinese cuisine. A property highlight is the resident traditional Chinese physician who offers readings, health recommendations and a medicinal herbal dispensary. Each of the 49 guestrooms and suites take on a unique personality so that no two are the same. From the magnificent Montgomerie Suite to the smaller spaces, that the designer refers to as petit grandeur, the elegant bespoke furnishings and the stylish ambience make for a unique experience for the guests.
